Of all the numbers the Green Bay Packers have put up in their running game early this season, none might be more startling than this:
In their win over the Detroit Lions last week, the Packers ran on 77 percent of their first downs. The last time they ran that often on first down in a game was 2004, when Ahman Green was at the tail end of his prime as an NFL running back.
