Hayward, Mulumba among Packers not practicing

Oct. 9, 2013

Cornerback Casey Hayward, who has missed the first four games of the season with a hamstring injury but attempted a return to padded practice last week, did not participate in today's practice at Hinkle Field.

Also out of action in today's non-padded practice was linebacker Andy Mulumba, which leaves the Packers with just three healthy outside linebackers -- Nick Perry, Mike Neal and rookie Nate Palmer.

Clay Matthews, who underwent surgery on his broken thumb on Monday and is expected to miss at least a month, was not on the sideline at practice.

Other players not practicing were RB James Starks, LB Brad Jones and OL Greg Van Roten.

Cornerback Jarrett Bush participated in the early portion of practice and then went inside the Hutson Center with some of the other injured players.

There was also no sign of practice squad receiver Charles Johnson at practice.

Packers coach Mike McCarthy is scheduled to conduct his Wednesday press conference early this afternoon.
