Packers players are aware they face the possibility of concussions every time they take the field. But that doesn’t stop them from playing.

“I know the risk that I'm taking playing this game,” said Aaron Rodgers. “I love this game. I've had a couple concussions. I think the equipment we're using is pretty cutting edge, and I'm confident in the helmet I'm wearing, the pads I'm wearing, and my ability and wherewithal to get down when I need to. But concussions are part of our game, they have been for a long time. They're talked about more because they're diagnosed and talked about, obviously, more than they were 20 years ago. So, it's part of the game, but I think the league is doing as much as they can from an equipment standpoint to make us safer.”

Packers defensive lineman Ryan Pickett said he would allow his kids to play football.

“You look at things differently as a parent, so I definitely look at that aspect but I think I will not hold them back from playing,” said Pickett.

As for his own safety, Pickett isn’t losing sleep over potential concussions.

“Not right now,” said Pickett. “It’s not something I try to think about a lot. … if I get another concussion then I’ll be concerned about it, but right now I’m not.”
