Kronenwetter finds solution to groundwater

Village officials Tuesday night voted on a final resolution to pay for a groundwater drainage pipe project currently underway in the Golden Pond subdivision.

All village taxpayers will cover 55 percent of the $627,000 project's costs - about $40 on a $100,000 home - and residents in the Golden Pond neighborhood area will pay the rest. Those costs will range from about $365 to $2,168 per home, depending upon how susceptible to flooding the properties are, on top of the fees collected from every village property owner.
