103 receive AP Scholar awards

D.C. Everest Senior High School recognizes 103 students who have been named AP Scholars by the College Board in recognition of their exceptional achievement on the college level Advanced Placement, or AP, examinations.

Students took AP examinations in May after completing challenging college-level courses at their high schools.

Ryan Eisenman qualified for the National AP Scholar Award by earning an average grade of 4 or higher on a five-point scale on all AP exams taken, and grades of 4 or higher on eight or more of these exams.

Twenty-nine students qualified for the AP Scholar with Distinction Award by earning an average grade of at least 3.5 on all AP exams taken, and grades of 3 or higher on five or more of these examinations. They are Hannah Anderson, Victoria Beda, Ramsey Beilke, Cole Bielen, Kathryn Block, Zachary Bluestein, Jonathan Butler, Johnathan Dzurka, Ryan Eisenman, Ian Hill, Zachary Holdrige, Mark Jedras, Dustin Johnson, Delaney Ketchum, Emily Knoll, Corinna Martell, Bryce Mathson, Luke Merchant, Zachary Neuner, Krystal Obermeier, Jared Pankow, Johnathon Petts, Carly Phillips, Cory Schillinger, Thomas Siegharter, Megan Stenstrom, Austin Stolze, Tou Vang and Olivia Vruwink.

Twenty-three students qualified for the AP Scholar with Honor Award by earning an average grade of at least 3.25 on all AP exams taken, and grades of 3 or higher on four or more of these exams. They are Taylor Apfelbeck, Radney Christiansen, Calvin Cottrell, Kelcey Daniels, Rachel Feit, Jenni Geurink, Marissa Hanson, Alexis Hernandez Abrego, Herolind Jusufi, Braden Lahr, Sea Luedkte, Michael Lukasik, Rachel Maguire, Michelle Mumper, Suzanne Phalen, Sydney Povilaitis, Saira Rodriguez, Stephanie Schuessler, Amelia Stranz, Heather Tice, Trevor Trantow, Samantha Wanta and Melanie Xiong.

Fifty-one students qualified for the AP Scholar Award by completing three or more AP examinations with a grade of 3 or higher. Mountain Bay Elementary

Students enjoy Play 60 kick-off

Mountain Bay Elementary participated in the National Football League-sponsored Play 60 Kick Off Celebration Sept. 19.

Students completed several obstacles with help from Green Bay Packers representatives, D.C. Everest football team members, parents and volunteers.

The NFL sponsors Play 60 to encourage physical exercise and healthy eating to combat childhood obesity.
