Green Bay Packers safety Jerron McMillian was fined $15,750 for striking a defenseless receiver during Sunday’s 22-9 win over Detroit.

The incident occurred inside the final 3 minutes of the game when the second-year safety made contact with Lions tight end Tony Scheffler following an incomplete pass from Matthew Stafford.

McMillian, who plans to appeal, was also fined $21,000 for a hit on New York Giants tight end Martellus Bennett last November.

If the ruling is upheld, it would cost McMillian 53.1 percent of his weekly game check of $28,235.29.

Lions defensive lineman Israel Idonije was also fined $15,750 by the league for a second-quarter leg whip committed against Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Coincidentally, fellow defensive lineman Ndamukong Suh was flagged in the first quarter for tripping Rodgers, but he wasn’t fined by the league.
