Final Alarm pays respects to service-related deaths

In October 2012, Rothschild Fire Chief Steven Fritz attended the Wisconsin State Firefighters Memorial Final Alarm Ceremony with his girlfriend.

"We both thought 'what a beautiful place,'" said Rothschild Deputy Fire Chief Mary La Porte, Fritz's girlfriend.

The couple had talked about purchasing a memorial plaque at the Wisconsin State Firefighter's Memorial in Wisconsin Rapids to honor a Rothschild firefighter who had died years before, La Porte said. ...
