As the leaves begin to turn color and temperatures cool, Confections for Any Occasion's Autumn Harvest Fest is the perfect way to discover new fall comfort foods grown and harvested by Wisconsin's agriculture producers. On Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 19-20 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., sample the tastes of fall with pumpkin pie truffles, new chocolate covered bacon, cranberry wine and more.

"Guests can taste more than 20 local, fall-inspired comfort foods," says Joel Bernhard, owner and blind candy maker of Confections for Any Occasion. "We've got treats for everyone!"

These tasty bites include meats, sweets and Wisconsin crafted beverages and cheeses. For a fall breakfast twist, try pancake mixes with flavors featuring cranberry and apple cinnamon. Add Nueske's Bacon, or think outside the box with a fully cooked blend of wild boar, venison, elk, antelope, rabbit and beef cleverly named "Roadkill."

Rice River Farms wild rice, Wisconsin Wilderness cranberry chutney, Maple Hollow BBQ sauce, Slack's Jelly, pure Wisconsin honey, award-winning Wisconsin cheeses and delectable Wisconsin wines are great complements to any dish. Sample them all and take some home for your loved ones to enjoy.

Don't forget the dessert. Discover a collection of luscious chocolates made fresh from the kitchen of Confections for Any Occasion featuring mouthwatering truffles to chewy caramels, chocolate covered cranberries, toffee and more. Pumpkin Pie Truffles - a Confections by Joel specialty that combines heavy whipping cream, real pumpkin puree and spices coated with velvety milk chocolate - is a sweet indulgence for all ages to enjoy. Joel's famous Berry Bogs combine cranberries, crunchy almonds and chewy caramel dipped in milk or dark chocolate.

On hand for the tasting will be the 2013 Wisconsin Fairest of the Fairs Steffani Koch on Saturday, Oct. 19 from noon to 2 p.m. to visit with attendees.

While tasting savory and sweet treats, experience firsthand the art of chocolate making from Candy-maker Joel, learn new recipes and shop for great Wisconsin foods for seasonal entertaining.
