Browns sign Packers practice squad player

Oct. 12, 2013

The Cleveland Browns signed Green Bay Packers practice squad player Charles Johnson to their 53-man roster, the team announced today.

Johnson, a 6-foot-2, 215-pound rookie receiver out of Grand Valley State, was drafted by the Packers in the seventh round in April's draft.

The Browns also placed quarterback Brian Hoyer on season-ending injured reserve.

Johnson had trouble getting on the field, missing most of the Packersí offseason program and training camp with injuries.
