More than four years after a Gillett woman and her brother were murdered, a Shawano man accused in their deaths goes on trial today.

Daniel L. Schmidt, 30, faces two counts of first-degree intentional homicide in connection to the deaths of 32-year-old Kimberly Rose and 22-year-old Leonard Marsh. The siblings were found shot to death on May 19, 2009, in her home about four miles southwest of Gillett. Marsh had been staying with his sister.
