Art Imig was only half serious several months ago when he casually asked a pair of Fond du Lac retail consultants if they would consider buying his family's third-generation men's clothing store in Kohler.

Imig, who's worked at Art Imig's Clothiers for 48 years, had been looking to sell for some time but never found a deal that felt right and instead began planning a store closing sale with the help of the father-son consulting team, who he'd become close friends with over the years.

While Imig may have been kidding, Ric Toman, 62, and his son, Jake Toman, 33, were serious when they returned days ...
