The Wausau School Board will hold its regular meeting at 6 p.m. tonight in the auditorium of John Muir Middle School, 1400 W. Stewart Ave.

School Board President Michelle Schaeffer said the change from the meeting's regular venue at Longfellow Administration Center is because a larger than normal crowd may show up because of the controversy concerning student performance of religious songs during the Christmas season.

The Board may have eased some of the uproar on Thursday, Schaefer said, when it backpedaled away from recent administrative decisions that put new limits on the amount of Christmas and sacred music the Wausau West High School Master Singers choir may sing at events. But the School Board will discuss the timing of a performance review of Superintendent Kathleen Williams, who came under heavy criticism during the affair for what some claim to be a lack communication between the district and the public and administrators and the School Board.
