Christi DeChamps of Appleton has been arming herself with information on her child's food allergy since he was diagnosed at the age of 10 months.

"It's a very scary world when you have a baby and scary is everywhere," said DeChamps, whose son is now 6.

Her son was diagnosed allergic to milk and egg, with the potential for anaphylaxis, a severe allergic reaction that needs immediate medical treatment such as the administration of an epinephrine shot. Even skin contact to these allergens can cause a reaction in her son. ...
