Woman charged with mistreating five horses

The heads of five horses were found on the property of woman now charged with neglecting five other horses.

CLINTONVILLE - A Waupaca County woman was charged this week with mistreating her five horses after several complaints and months of working with the sheriff's department to correct the problems.

On Wednesday, the Waupaca County District Attorney's office filed 15 charges - five counts of mistreating animals, five counts of failing to provide proper food and five counts of failing to provide proper shelter - against 71-year-old Barbara J. Thiry of Clintonville, according to court documents.
