Four days before a Gillett woman and her brother were murdered in 2009, their accused killer told his wife: "I'd like to shoot her and then myself."

Stephanie Schmidt reluctantly testified Monday about the remark made by her husband, Daniel Schmidt, on the first day of his trial. The trial is expected to continue throughout the week.
