James Fitzhenry: Rieckman's legacy is set of principles to guide our future

I suppose it was the snotty comments by media blogger Jim Romenesko that demand something more than simply reminiscing about Stew Rieckman's 44 years at the Oshkosh Northwestern.

At his retirement celebration on Oct. 3, there were more than a few stories to share among the friends, family, colleagues and community members who gathered to honor Rieckman. As the guests can attest, Stew's a treasure-trove of stories spawned over decades of being on the front lines of covering news, which encompasses human nature in all of its glory and ghastliness.
