It appears rookie tight end Jake Stoneburner has been promoted to the Green Bay Packersí 53-man roster from the practice squad.

There has been no confirmation from the Packers, but several posts on Twitter, including tweets from teammates Micah Hyde, Jerel Worthy and Brandon Bostick, congratulate Stoneburner for the promotion.

Stoneburner, 24, is a 6-foot-3, 249-pounder from Ohio State who was signed as an undrafted free agent in May. He had three catches for 12 yards and a touchdown during the preseason. He was released during final cuts, then signed to the practice squad.

He had 53 receptions for 714 yards and 13 touchdowns in his college career, playing tight end his first three seasons and H-back/receiver during his senior year.

There also was no word on a corresponding roster move to make room for Stoneburner on the roster.
