The board of education for the Oconto Unified School District will meet for their regular monthly meeting on Monday, Oct. 21 at 6:30 p.m. in the Community Room of the Oconto Middle School.

A listening session will be held before the regular meeting at 5:45 p.m. in the Special Ed office. Look for signs upon entry to OMS. Staff and citizens are welcome to stop in and chat informally with two board members.

On the agenda for the evening will be a short Chromebook training session for board members, approval of any youth options applications, a resolution to approve planning for a high school charter school tentatively called Oconto Career College, a presentation on the school report cards for the three buildings, approval of a snow removal bid, approval of an increase in paraprofessional sub pay for the next two years, the final report on summer school, approval of a cash flow line of credit, board education on another area of finance, approval of the 2013-14 budget and setting the levy for 2013-14 and an update on board goals.

Two policies will receive a first reading: animals on school property and graduation requirements. Resignations and hirings will be considered and action taken if needed.

Public comments may be made at the meeting by registering before the meeting is called to order. Comments on specific agenda items may be made by registering with the district office, 834-7814 Ext. 4103 by the Friday noon preceding the board meeting date.
