American Legion donates clothing for homeless veterans

Thanks to the contribution from Pittsville American Legion Post 153, clothing was purchased and delivered to the Veterans Assistance Foundation in Tomah for the 44 homeless veterans who currently are living there.

The staff members at Tomah were waiting for the clothing to be delivered and quickly helped to carry it in; a photographer was waiting for a photo op for the quarterly newsletter. In each newsletter, a success story is told by a veteran who is in or has left the program.

The homeless vets may stay for up to two years. During this time, there are lawyers, who donate their time helping ...
