T.B. Scott Free Library is gathering input from the Merrill community as the board and staff work to develop their next long range plan.

The library wants to know what you think. What does the library mean to the community? What library services do you like or dislike? What do you feel the library should focus on in the future?

Libraries today are no longer just about books. If it has been a while since you visited the library, you might be surprised at the services available. Come in and rediscover your library!

Many people are concerned about the role of libraries as technology becomes more advanced. Those who use the library know that the library will change to adapt to the needs of our community. We will offer programs and utilize our physical building in ways that could not have been imagined 50 years ago. That's where careful planning for the future is so important.

Key library programs today include Learning to Read Initiatives for preschoolers, featuring traditional storytimes and 1000 Books before Kindergarten. Computer and eBook coaching is offered for all ages. Programs for entertainment and education are available for children, teens and adults.

The library offers outreach services that deliver materials to those who cannot visit the library. Computers are available for use in the library and WiFi access is available to those who bring their own computers with them.

For those with little time to spare to come into the library, many library services are now available online with the use of your library card. Downloadable eBooks, audiobooks, music and video are available to any Wisconsin resident with a current library card. The library has online access to training courses and specialized information through database access. Students, no matter what grade or level, have access to free online tests and study guides.

We value your suggestions or comments to help the library plan for the future. We invite you to fill out a survey at the library or complete the survey online at www.tbscottlibrary.org/feedback.

The survey will be available through the month of October. We hope to hear from you!
