Door County native Finnel places 42nd out of nearly 22,000 runners in Chicago Marathon

Brian Finnel was a good distance runner at Southern Door High School and the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.

But the 26-year-old Door County native might just now be hitting his stride.

In his first marathon race last Sunday, Finnel placed 42nd in a men's field of nearly 22,000 runners in the prestigious Chicago Marathon. He was the 21st United States finisher in a race dominated by foreign runners from countries such as Kenya and Japan. ...
