Southern Door High School cross country coach Josh Pease had a feeling his string of Packerland Conference girls championships had come to an end Thursday afternoon in Fish Creek.

The final results had yet to be announced, but Pease could tell by his own calculations and the smiles on the faces of the Kewaunee team that a fourth straight conference title wasn't in the works.

In the end, Kewaunee's 47 points nipped Southern Door by two points to wrestle the title away from the Eagles. Algoma, paced by a spectacular run by individual champion Whitney Ebert, placed third with 49 followed by ...
