A motorist faces drunken driving charges after an overnight traffic accident that sent him and two passengers to the hospital.

Police would not identify the suspect but described him as a 48-year-old Green Bay man.

According to the Ashwaubenon Public Safety Department, the man slammed his Chevy Blazer into a utility pole about 1:30 a.m. Saturday at the intersection of Broadway and Potts Avenue.

Firefighters extricated the driver and two passengers from the wreckage and transported all three to the hospital. Details of their injuries were not available.

Ashwaubenon Lt. Scott Schermitzler said the driver was cited for driving under the influence.
