Kids can turn their candy into cash

Listen up, kids. Here's an opportunity to turn your Halloween candy stash into cash, IF you're willing to hand over the mini Kit Kats and Snickers.

Door County Dental Care in Sturgeon Bay will pay children $1 for every pound of extra trick-or-treat candy they turn in. It's a "covert effort'' to fight cavities. The goal this year is 80 pounds, with all of the candy shipped overseas as a treat for the troops.

To participate in the Kids' Halloween Candy Buy Back Event, children can drop off their candy from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 1-8 at the dental office, 30 N. 18th Ave., #2. For more information, call (920) 743-6911.
