BASKETBALL November

What: Special Olympics new player sign-ups

When: Nov. 13 from 5-6:30 p.m. and practice begins Nov. 18

BOWLING October

What: Lakeshore All Sports Hall of Fame's 12th annual team nine-pin bowling tournament

When: Oct. 27 at noon, registration deadline is Friday

Where: Meadow Lanes North

Synopsis: The tournament is open to the first 24 teams with all of the proceeds benefiting youth sports organizations in the Lakeshore area. Cash prizes will be awarded and there will also be a sports and 50/50 raffle.

Cost: $75 per team

What: Shape Up

When: Mondays and Wednesdays, 6:30 p.m.; Session 1: Monday- Nov. 20; Session 2: Dec. 2-Dec. 18

Where: Monroe Elmentary Gym

Cost: Session 1: $19 resident, $28.00 non-resident; Session 2: $11.50 resident, $17.50 non-resident

Synopsis: The Manitowoc Park and Recreation Department is sponsoring this low-impact aerobic class which involves music and floor exercises.

What: Turkey Shoot

When: Oct. 27 at 10 a.m.

Where: The Golf Course at Branch River

Synopsis: The events is a four-person scramble in which the golfer plays the course backwards.

Cost: $160 per team which includes: golf, cart, food and prizes including turkey for flag events and winners

What: Branch River "Big Cup"

When: Today at 9 a.m. with awards to follow at 2 p.m.

Where: The Golf Course at Branch River

Synopsis: The event is a four-person 18-hole scramble including one A-Player with a 0-5 handicap, one B-Player (6-9 Handicap) and two C-Players (10+). Players must have a valid handicap to play in event which is limited to first 36 teams.

Cost: $240 per team including green fees, two golf carts per team, driving range and prizes with skins game optional.

HALL OF FAME Now-December

What: Lakeshore All Sports Hall of Fame 38th Annual Enshrinement Banquet nominations

When: Nominations can be sent in from now until Dec. 1 while donation requests from non-profit sports organizations must be submitted by Dec. 29.

Synopsis: The banquet is scheduled for April 30, 2014 and will be held at the Holiday Inn.
