'Stock the Shelves' off to strong start

The 2013 "Stock the Shelves" Do It! drive for local food pantries is off to a strong start with more than $3,500 in donations in the first week of the campaign.

Oshkosh Northwestern Media set a goal of raising $70,000 to fight hunger in the Oshkosh community as part of a $659,000 total target for 10 Gannett Wisconsin Media markets across the state. As of Friday morning, contributions totaling $3,595 have been received.

The challenge is a partnership with the J.J. Keller Foundation, Winnebago Chapter of Credit Unions, Express Convenience Centers and the Oshkosh Area Community Foundation. All donations stay in local communities to combat hunger.

For details on making a donation, see the ad in today's newspaper on Page C5 or head to www.oshkosharea cf.org .
