If you're anything like Streetwise, all of the coverage of the Affordable Care Act has left your head spinning.

Lucky for us in Oshkosh, the American Association of University Women is here to help with a primer on the ins and outs of the new law during a forum beginning at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Oshkosh Seniors Center south building, 200 N. Campbell Road.

The event will cover what you have to do to enroll and by when, new BadgerCare application processes, new plan options, how subsidies will work and other details featuring Ulness Health Insurance founder John Ulness, Winnebago County Economic Support Manager Ann Kriegel and representatives from several different medical institutions in the region.

? Almost three years after the process began, CVS Pharmacy will open its first Oshkosh location at the corner of Ninth Avenue and Koeller Street on Oct. 27. The pharmacy will be a welcome addition for area residents looking for some options when it comes to a 24-hour pharmacy in town.

? While we're in the neighborhood, Operative Radar gets the nod for word that Jones Family Chiropractic will be moving this month from its present location on Emmers Lane to the vacant space adjacent to Jo Ann Fabric in the 1200 block of South Koeller Street. Jones Chiropractic folks say patients and customers should plan to head to the new location after Oct. 28.

? We've gotten word there's been an ownership change at a popular Neenah bridal boutique. Erika's Bridal Couture, 935 W. Cecil St., opened for business with one dress in 1973. This month, owner Erika Meyer has sold the business to Katie McCarty, who plans to expand the store's offerings to include specialty jewelry and accessories as well as a larger variety of dresses for the bride and bridesmaids.

? The reminders that the Christmas holiday shopping season is right around the corner have already started to crop up everywhere. And all of those additional customers require additional staff at major outlets from Miles Kimball to all your favorite big boxes. Those looking for seasonal work might want to stop by the space next to the Corningware store in The Outlet Shoppes at Oshkosh, 3001 S. Washburn St., for a job fair from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 29.

More than 13 stores that are looking to hire seasonal help will be on hand to review resumes and conduct interviews on the spot, so be sure to come prepared.
