Stevens Point City Council members unanimously approved a lease agreement Monday night that will bring 150 new jobs to the former Dunham's Sports property downtown.

Stevens Point Mayor Andrew Halverson said Great Lakes Educational Loan Service Inc. wanted to lease the building from the city and would bring 150 new full-time jobs with an average annual salary of nearly $25,000 to the city.

The city will invest $500,000 in the property while Great Lakes will invest nearly $1 million in the vacant downtown building for extensive interior and exterior renovations that would adapt it for use by ...
