10 YEARS AGO: Donald and Anna Hahn of Pittsville recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary at North Wood County Park. The couple were married Sept. 25, 1943, in Spartanburg, S.C.

Emily Verkilen, 5, of Milton, along with his other and relatives from Medford, were spooked on the trail in the Haunted Forest at Monster Hall, Colby. Guests of the scary trail ride can take the wagon or drive themselves on golf carts.

25 YEARS AGO: The W.E.L.C.A. of Trinity Lutheran Church, Unity, saw a program on "Peace and Justice" given by Esther Carlson at its recent meeting. Carlson and Dorothy Johnson also gave members an update on the convention they attended at Rice Lake.

50 YEARS AGO: Seven Dor-Abby High School girls are candidates for homecoming queen. The winner will be announced Oct. 24 at a bonfire ceremony starting the homecoming festivities.

75 YEARS AGO: A wheelchair purchased by the North Wood County Chapter of the American Red Cross will be made available to people who are in need of one but cannot afford one. Those unable to pay for the use of the chair will be given preference in its use.
