Dr. Roger Krogstad gave his first pint of blood in Hong Kong in 1972, while stationed in the U.S. Navy. On Oct. 14, he celebrated his 100th pint donation at the American Red Cross blood drive that took place at Marshfield Eagle's Club.

For Krogstad, a doctor of veterinary medicine at Wildwood Animal Hospital and Clinic, involvement with the American Red Cross has been a way of life.

"Growing up in small town Iowa, my mother was very much involved with the Red Cross," Krogstad said. "She was a registered nurse and one of the very special things that she did was to work with what she called the 'blood ...
