Farm Financial Records class offered

Mid-State Technical College is offering a financial class for farmers titled Farm Records & Business Analysis. This class will help farmers with setting priorities, making decisions, choosing record keeping systems, calculating cost of production, planning for 2014 operations, gathering records for obtaining credit, understanding current and new tax laws and conducting a farm business financial analysis. In addition, risk management techniques will be illustrated, a sample business plan will be shared, and financial planning including estate planning will be discussed.

Classes are from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. at various locations and dates. Classes will be held in Vesper Oct. 22, Almond on Oct. 23, Amherst on Oct. 24, Chili on Oct. 30 and Auburndale on Oct. 31. Students will receive follow-up on-farm instruction, a class benefit included in the registration cost.
