Do you go into a room and forget why you came there? Do you spend a lot of time looking for keys? Are you wondering is this just a normal part of aging? Do you fear becoming mentally incapacitated? Is there something you can do to keep from losing your memory?

The good news is that scientists have found that the brain continues to develop through and beyond middle age. If kept in good shape, the brain can continue to build pathways that help it owner recognize patterns and, as a consequence, see significance and even solutions much faster than a young person can. The trick is to get out of your comfort zone to push and nourish your brain. You will find that Breakfast for the Brain will in a very fun way encourage you to stretch your brain.

Nan Baumgartner will be facilitating sessions for the Fond du Lac Senior Center for the third time. Those attending have been very excited about the program. Nan is a fun, creative person picking out the best of the best activities. There are healthy snacks at each session and a diversity of fun, brain-challenging activities.

Class size is limited so sign up soon. The sessions will be held on Mondays and Wednesday from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at the Aging and Disability Resource Center, 50 N. Portland St. Dates include: Nov. 4, 6, 11, 13, 18 and 20. The cost for the 6 sessions is $15 and is payable at the Fond du Lac Senior Center, 151 E. First St., prior to the start of the class.

If you have additional questions, call 322-3630 and ask for Jean.
