Traffic turnabout: Partial roundabout closure planned for early November

The two northbound lanes on Broadway leading to the roundabout will be reduced to one lane for a two-week period starting Nov. 4 to accommodate extensive utility work that will be done where a Walgreens store will be built adjacent to the roundabout. Other road closures will be in effect in that area.

Just as some area motorists have been finding and taking alternative routes to get around traffic trouble spots brought by bridge closures and other roadwork in the region, another obstruction is around the bend.

City officials, in coordination with the state Department of Transportation, are preparing to close a portion of the heavily used roundabout in downtown De Pere in early November.
