For the first time in three years, De Pere has only one high school football team competing in the state playoffs.

West De Pere is embarking on a 10th straight postseason appearance with a collective eye on getting to Madison in about a month for the WIAA Division 3 championship for the fourth time in the last five years.

The Phantoms (8-1 overall) are seeded No. 2 in their eight-team bracket. They will host seventh-seeded Mosinee (7-2) at 7 p.m. Friday in a first-round game. ...
