First English Neighborhood Center goes on

The Neighborhood Center at First English Lutheran Church is entering its forty-first year of Wednesday noon programs and meals. A thank you goes out to "Hear to Serve" for helping us to do so.

The Neighborhood Center was started in September 1972 as a joint effort of Bethel Home and FELC. Organizers, under the direction of Pat Rossing, saw it as an interdenominational drop-in gathering place for retired persons in the community. Every Wednesday from Labor Day to Memorial Day they provided programs, organized activities such as sewing circles, arts and crafts, card games, devotions, ...
