One of the goals of United Way of Inner Wisconsin's Volunteer Center is to recruit and match volunteers for nonprofit organizations needing your help in south Wood and Adams counties. The following are this week's volunteer opportunities.

City of Wisconsin Rapids Park & Recreation Event - The Great Pumpkin Hunt: A pre-trick-or-treat event held Oct. 30 at Witter Field Tennis Courts. Children ages 2 to 6 will search for small treats using a flashlight. Each child should bring a bag and flashlight. Police supervised. Bathrooms closed for the season. No cost.

Day of Caring: United Way of Inner Wisconsin's Volunteer Center is looking for volunteers to help rake yards for our local elderly and disabled neighbors. Form a group with your friends, relatives, co-workers or members of your congregation. Come to the Grand Rapids Lions Club at 9 a.m. Saturday to receive your raking assignment. Volunteers need to bring their own gloves and rakes and dress appropriately for the weather. Volunteers also need to provide their own transportation. Garbage bags will be provided by each homeowner. Younger volunteers need to be supervised. If you are in need of having your yard raked please call 211 to be put on the list.

The Family Center: Visitation assistants needed. Our visitation program includes safe exchanges and supervised visitation. It is designed to offer families a safe and healthy environment to spend quality time together, which encourages positive child-parent relationships. Volunteers are needed to interact with children and parents, while assisting visitation staff to conduct exchanges and visitation. Position also includes some office duties, as well as some light cleaning. Position is available between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Wisconsin Rapids Community Theatre: We are looking for individual(s) to learn our ticketing system in order to help out selling tickets the week before a show opens and the week between performance weekends. The box office hours are 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday.
