The Green Lake Area Animal Shelter is moving forward with a 1,900-square-foot addition.

The shelter received a $120,000 gift, allowing it to begin the project, according to an event press release.

Groundbreaking is set for Monday, Nov. 4, at the shelter, N6217 Busse Drive. Staff, the board of directors and the architect will be on site from 4 to 5:30 p.m. to share information and answer questions.

The shelter offers adoptions, training, boarding, spay and neuter services, veterinary referrals and assistance with pet-related issues.
