Packers coach Mike McCarthy spoke after Friday’s final practice before playing the Minnesota Vikings this Sunday. Here are some highlights from his news conference:

-Outside linebacker Nick Perry (foot, questionable), wide receiver James Jones (knee, doubtful), cornerbacks Jarrett Bush (hamstring, probable) and Casey Hayward (hamstring, probable), running back James Starks (knee, probable), inside linebacker Brad Jones (hamstring, questionable), tight end Ryan Taylor (knee, out), outside linebacker Clay Matthews (knee, out), tight end Jermichael Finley (neck, out), safety Jerron McMilllian (not injury related, probable).

-Nick Perry did OK. He was a limited role today. We’ll see how he feels. Hopefully, he’ll be ready for Sunday night.

-We’re following the rehab schedule and communication with Nick.

-I saw Jermichael this morning. He looks good. He looked like a dang movie star with sunglasses and big smile on his face. My understanding is the tests that have been down, that information is being sent to the specialists.

-Great to see him. He looks good. I’m glad to see him out of the hospital.

-Casey Hayward has excellent ball skills when it comes to route recognition and jumping routes. He can be a spark and getting hands on balls. Last week, we had two opportunities we wish we would’ve had.

-I think our football team is in a good place, especially having opportunity to see Jermichael.

-Jarrett Bush has been one of our special teams captains. He’s an excellent special teams player. We knew going into the Cleveland game we’d be challenged. It was no surprise when we went for it on a fake punt. I think teams few rookies and young players can be viewed as susceptible to fakes. Minnesota has good unit. We’ll be challenged.

-I don’t know if there is a good coach who can’t teach. Obviously, teaching is really a huge requirement in the profession of coaching. Most people just call coaches teachers. It’s a high priority.

-Jerron McMillian left today for personal reasons. A good thing.
