Green Bay School Board to approve $252.7M budget

The Green Bay School Board is set to approve its $252.7 million budget Monday.

The proposed 2013-14 budget includes the purchase of two buildings, one at 139 S. Monroe Ave. to house the district's program for gifted and talented students, and one at 2430 Finger Road to house programs for students with behavioral issues.

The budget includes 78 new positions, including 65 teachers. Enrollment grew by 410 students this school year, according to Alan Wagner, chief financial officer for the district. Green Bay is Wisconsin's fifth-largest school district, serving about 21,000 students. ...
