Kids see big fruit from their labor

The scale and tape measure got a workout at the Green Bay Gardeners Club’s annual big pumpkin and sunflower contest for kids.

Winners for the biggest pumpkin were: Camden Borlee, 76 pounds, first place; Tyranie Gerbers, 74 pounds, second place; and Hunter Gerbers, 54 pounds, third place.

Winners for the biggest sunflower were: Caityln Hintz, 26 inches, first place; Alec Hintz, 23 inches, second place; and Juliana Rose, 21˝ inches, third place.

The contest will return next year at the Downtown Farmers Market.
