Letters to the editor: Event shuffle not good for families

5:39 PM, Oct. 24, 2013  |  Comments

I just found out that the event normally slotted for this weekend (Oct. 26) is only a chili cook off and farmers market. No more kids games or trick or treating! That was always such a nice event my family and I have always looked forward to. Everyone walking around dressed up, eating and having a great time enjoying the outdoors and downtown.

And now I hear they moved the kid's events to Wednesday night (Oct.) 30th. It's a school night and Halloween in the next night. Makes no sense. Same with the holiday parade. It should have never been moved from Saturday. We need all the family events we can get in this city and for some reason the city just keeps ruining them. Signed, an angry parent!
