Man reaches plea deal in heroin case

A Chicago man accused of participating in a heroin trafficking operation likely will spend no more than four years in prison as part of a plea agreement his attorney negotiated with prosecutors.

David Purnell, 26, was convicted Monday in Marathon County Circuit Court on felony charges of manufacturing or delivering heroin and possession of cocaine with intent to deliver; additional charges of manufacturing or delivering cocaine and maintaining a drug trafficking place were dismissed as part of a plea agreement.
