EDITOR: So the Daily Herald Media Editorial Board feels the Wausau School Board does not need an outside investigator to find out why a decision was made to limit Christmas concerts and Christian music? "It's over!" the Daily Herald writes. "Reason prevailed." Nothing to see here, just move along.

There is no story here? While this inexplicable decision to squash Christmas concerts may not have been a criminal matter, it affected thousands of people in this community. The superintendent and presumably others act behind closed doors and created a solution to a problem that didn't exist.

The reason an independent investigation is needed is because those involved have yet to explain their actions to the people they supposedly represent and to their fellow school board members whom they've ignored.

Board member Pat McKee was not "grandstanding," nor did he "demand" an apology. He rightly asked for one, as did many who spoke at the School Board meeting. An apology is due.

We the people turned out to right a wrong. If this was done at the direction of the current superintendent, she must face the music.
