The deepest advancement by a West De Pere High School boys soccer team in the WIAA playoffs in six years stopped north of Milwaukee on Thursday night.

Top-seeded Cedarburg turned a goal in the opening minutes of play into a 3-0 win over the visiting Phantoms in the Division 2 sectional semifinals.

The Bulldogs (14-4-2) went on to beat seventh-seeded Slinger 4-0 in a sectional final Saturday and advance to the state tournament this week at Uihlein Soccer Park in Milwaukee. ...
