Updates from Mike McCarthy's press conference:
*Finley getting better. Was at team photo. Don't have updates on his physical condition.
*Nick Perry is not ready. Not moving along as everybody hoped.
*Bears' secondary playing extremely well.
*Look at video available on their quarterback. I don't think it's going to change their style of play.
*Ball security is important. Thought we did great job against Vikings. We have respect for Bears and what they have been able to accomplish for years in taking ball away.
*Bakhtiari playing very well, but it's like anything. Result and mindset needs to stay the same. He needs to play well this week. Big-time challenge against Julius Peppers. But we haven't arrived.
*Matt Forte classic 3 down RB, very good coming out of backfield, good run blocker, multiple offense utilizes his talents, excellent inside runner.
*Bears have big receivers, do good job of going up and getting the ball.
*Mike Daniels is heck of a football player. Brings tenacity to table. Taken step in his second year. Joy to coach.
*Hayward played well, 20-25 snaps. We have lot of competition in secondary.
*Ryan Taylor one of primary special teams players, very productive, hoping he can get through practice and be ready to go. Great to have him back.
*No decision made on other PUP players (besides Sherrod). In next couple weeks we'll have something.
*Mason Crosby never left. Went through tough spot. I believed in the man and his ability. You have history. Matter of him, more of mental tough spot he was going through. What we put him through from competitive standpoint in camp was good for all of us.
*Lot of football left to be played. I like playing the way the offense is doing. We will do what's best offensively, and that's scoring points. Benefits of running football you have clearly seen. Fabric that you need. We want to be balanced, meaning you run when you want to and throw like you want to.
*This is definitely the game. in my humble opinion, this is THE game in the NFL. we have obligation to take commitment and energy into this game.
*Datone Jones is getting better. Happy with progress he's making, but we want more. We want more from all of our guys. I dont' think he's going to have big numbers this year because of depth of line. He needs to move forward.
