Bears receiver Brandon Marshall didnít take kindly to the suggestion he hasnít had success against the Packers.
ďWell, I donít know where you get that from,Ē said Marshall during a conference call on Thursday with Wisconsin media. ďYou go back to Denver days when Al Harris was there, I had a good game, made some good plays even though it was a tough match-up, a lot of give and take. When I was in Miami, I think I had 100-something yards and we won the game. I think that was yaíllís Super Bowl year, so I donít know where you get that from that itís been tough for me.Ē
As a member of the Denver Broncos in 2007, Marshall caught three passes for 74 yards in the Packersí 19-13 overtime win. As a member of the Miami Dolphins in 2010, Marshall caught 10 passes for 127 yards in the Packersí 23-20 overtime loss at Lambeau Field.
Last year, Marshall wasnít as successful against the Packers. He caught just two passes for 24 yards in the first meeting won by the Packers 23-10 at Lambeau. In the rematch in Chicago, Marshall caught six passes for 56 yards and scored the Bearsí lone touchdown in the Packersí 21-13 victory.
Marshall acknowledged that since the Packers defense got torched by Anquan Boldin in a season-opening loss to the 49ers, it has done well shutting down No. 1 receivers.
ďIím expecting them to definitely do something to take me out of the game and if thatís the case, we have guys who can do some damage,Ē said Marshall. ďAlshon Jeffrey, is actually leading us in receiving yards. That says a lot there. And Martellus Bennett, heís a beast. If theyíre going to take me out, we definitely have guys that can beat them. Itís going to be tough though.Ē
