Two new bars have opened up next door to each other on Ross Avenue.

Stampede Country Saloon opened Sept. 28 in the Western Village at 320 Ross Ave., Schofield. Octane, a racing and motorcycle-themed bar, opened Oct. 17 in the space next door.

As a country-western themed bar, Stampede hosts live country bands, country-rock bands and the occasional DJ every Friday and Saturday, said Patrick Thornton, owner of both establishments. ...
