When a customer visited the Auto X Change lot in the Town of Menasha earlier this month to test ride a vehicle, things didn't go as planned.

"When we started it, it was loud," said Steve Jacob, owner of the business on Racine Street. "It was very surprising."

Jacob discovered that the car had been targeted by a thief who was interested in a seemingly peculiar item: the catalytic converter. ...
