Jenny Conrardy was in college when she began searching out ways to afford more local and organic food on a shoe-string budget.

Her answer came when she discovered a community-supported agriculture farm, or CSA, that allowed her to work several hours at a local farm in exchange for weekly deliveries of produce.

"I was flat broke, trying to pay for college. It almost sounded too good to be true," said Conrardy, who now lives in Sheboygan. "It was a really great way on a tight budget to get fresh, healthy food." ...
