County budget meeting is short, mostly sweet

The Door County Board of Supervisors spent more time Monday debating a change in the daily pay for their positions than they needed to adopt a 2014 county budget. The meeting lasted about one hour, including a 10-minute video presentation promoting the Wisconsin Counties Association.

Slightly more one third of the $72,343,818 county budget for next year comes from the property tax levy, representing $25,334,211. The remainder of the 2014 income (revenue) - $47,009,604 - is from state and federal funds for such diverse programs as Human Services and Highways.
